Ok so I am looking to put a 73 set (19 front and 18 rear) on my 81, but the wheel set has no axles or spacers. So what parts do I need to make them work? The 81 has stock forks and swing arm.

for the rear you need the spacer set from a 75+ drum brake wheel, not sure about the front since some of those early wheels were oddballs.

The 73 used the bolt on brake rotors. The same as the rest of the 73 up bikes. On the rear if they both have the drum brake just use your axle and spacers. Same on the front.

One more thing use your 81 front brake rotor, the 73 has a different offset. About .2 inch more. Enough so it won't work with the 81 caliper.

Did my rear the same as you on my 81. I just simply used the 81;s spacers and spindle. I did do a swap with someone before and it was all wrong as I had the bits for the 73 and they were too short!!

Don't know about the front as I have USD's up front, had to get spacers made
