78 complet clutch in to a 81

hello can anybody tell me if a 78 7 plate clutch complet will fit straight on to my 81 im suffering with very bad clutch slip when warm.or is a 6 plate clutch good with new plates and springs many thanks

The 6 disc clutch with new ferodo clutches and springs will cure your slip problems. Use the right oil for wet clutches.

many thanks.just ordered new plates and springs ive been using castrol classic 20/50 is this ok? thanks again

Often slippage is related to improper adjustment or synthetic oils. 7 plate clutches are more prone to breaking primary gear springs. Many parts aren't interchangeable between the 3 types of clutches but complete units can be swapped between motors.

I use valvolene 20W-50 4stroke Motorcycle not sure about castrol
