Just like it sounds, I took factory 76 airbox's, removed the unnecessary material which left me with a much smaller portion, cut the top off, cut pieces of aluminium to close up the open end, drilled holes to match the other end and of course had to polish!
Found some sticky backed thin felt to line with to stop any rattling.
And with a stroke of luck, plugs in their boxes are a perfect snug fit.
Place a rag on top and the only part of the job left is to wrap a piece of 2 inch elestic around it vertically, to stop anything from leaving the nest.
One side looks perdy next to the new VR.
Dont know if I will run the otherside considering I just mounted my rectifier in the spot for the airbox, if so, I will have to relocate back under the battery again.
I plan on placing other items in the box such as a short circuit tester , small telescoping magnet, spare fuses, some plastic gloves for dealing with roadside chain issues and some masterlinks, yada yada yada.

I assume this is possible for anybody that runs a 76 style battery box, but for even other years, Is something similar possible?
