So, a quick update…
My package from Hieden tuning finally arrived (2+ months in transit) with the straight carb boots in place of the angled versions, the side covers easily fit.
The Heiden boots were a very precise replica of the OEM versions, and allowed me to use the OEM steel boot cover, and clamps… if they’ve chosen the correct material then I should be good to go… very happy with the end result.
Also did a bit of work on the sidecar mounting… First off I converted the front engine mount to accept two M16 anchor bolts to attach a sub-frame on to the bike…
Next I doodled, with the help of a 3D printer, to conceptualize as to what a sub frame might look like… I wanted something that would be stealthy and easy to remove so that the bike could be enjoyed without the sidecar and sub-frame. For this reason, I also favored something that would allow me to keep the center stand…
I haven’t finalized the horizontal arms and their connections to the sidecar, but this is where I’ve got it to now.
Unfortunately, things are going to come to a bit of slowdown, as life intervenes with its twists and turns… might be a while before I get back on this…
