Farewell to a dear friend (grizld1)

Dear folks,

This is Ann, Dick's wife. I hope he's in a position to see all the wonderful comments and pictures because I know he'd enjoy them immensely. He had a really good time here, for which I thank you. He also had a blast shipping stuff out these past few weeks, glad to see his treasures going to good homes.

An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress,

W.B. Yeats
So sorry for your loss.

As a relative newcomer here, I had but one or two brief exchanges with the grizld1. I learned quickly that he was sharp of knowledge, whit and tongue and appreciated him for it. Glad to have made his acquaintance. RIP Dick, and my condolences to Ann.

My goodness, I've just learned this sad news now. My condolences to you Ann and to all of you members who were friends with Mr. Dick Russell. He was very helpful to me, a total stranger with a common interest, and he was obviously a key person to this community, to which I am still quite new. RIP Dick and thank you for your wisdom.

Hope you are getting your feet underneath and are successfully dealing with the million details, decisions that need doing.
Makes me feel better that you are stopping by.
Thank you, Gary. It goes.
The picture arrived yesterday. I can't thank you enough for it and the others you took. It was lovely to have you here, and did us both much good.
Be well.
