Here's a machine with a radial engine. 5 cylinders and 640cc mounted in the front wheel.
That last pic looks like a Seca turbo I owned for a bit. Too heavy but wow, powerStumbled across a couple old photos I had. Me with my ‘77 BMW R100/7 and my ‘76 Triumph T140V. And ( 2 really faded and discolored ) photos of my ‘78 XS750 with a Windjammer Quicksilver fairing ( the first year Windjammer sold their small, frame mounted fairing )

There is narrower switchgear available, some surprisingly affordable. I ran into the same dillemma that was addressed in my "New to me XS 650" thread. I will look them up when I get a minute.
I think the stock stuff will fit. Barely.I did not find switch gear in my "New to me" thread. Maybe it was a handlebar thread from a year ago...edit...I searched switch gear and...

Were they horizontal fore and aft...?Sounds to me like an old John Deere two cylinder tractor!
Funny that..... today a counterbalanced crank is a strong selling point. Back then... not even mentioned. It's almost like folk back then thought if a crank needed a counterbalance.... must be sumpin wrong with it. I'd love a big thumper like that.https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/suzu/Suzuki_dr750 88.htm
Here’s a bike that I wasn’t even aware of, it wasn’t sold in the USA as far as I can tell , but it looked to be very popular in Europe and other parts of the world. Sold in 1988 /89 , following the popular trend of Paris to Dakar, large displacement off road racers. Suzuki built a replica of its factory racer.
The DR750S Big. There are quite a few YouTube videos of guys absolutely wailing on these bikes, so they weren’t just posers.
