Clutch removal.......I needed a tool and came up with this.....worked great!

No instructions are necessary here, the pictures are sufficient and the only information I could possibly add is that there is a hook at the end of the strap.

If you don't have a hook you can just make a knot....(sorry..I had to add that too... just in case).

If Necessity is the Mother of all invention then frustration has to be the father of progress

Nice solution and I assume it worked well for you...

bt24..

I was removing the basket to retract the shift shaft for a new seal.

Yes it worked very well...on the first try and no fiddlin with it. I should be able to just reverse the strap and hook it on the other side of the table to reinstall the basket with a torque wrench.

Update...

While I had the hub removed I cleaned it up a bit and smoothed out any rough edges.
Minor problem....... when I went to put the hub back on and tighten the nut the strap did not grab and the hub would rotate.

I wound in a piece of rubber gauze like you might use to keep a rug from slipping on a wood floor. This worked well...no more slipping and I was able to tighten the nut with a torque wrench.
