Stuff my dog says; on second thought I'll just build a race car

Turns out today was moving day, looks cooler here anyway.

Coworker sent this, trying to set up for a group shot to show the roadster shop truck frame and got me killing time in mine.

It's my bosses, has a 400hp small block and automatic. Was something he got a deal on and decided to do up with the Petty thing. Gets a ton of attention at car shows despite not being anything particularly special.

First things done with the car now at my work. Not very photogenic but put in the battery cable bulkheads for starter and alternator power wires and leveled the chassis on the suspension.

Drilled some holes and mounted the electrical stuff to the floor. This could bring an end to the questions about a passenger seat being in the off side floor, but I don't really expect it. Also added the clutch safety switch I forgot when doing the lines previously.

There are things which are wired, those things are most of the things. I don't have the instrument panel grounds done, I need to get a box of weld studs to anchor the harness and brake/clutch lines and then I'll ground the instruments to those as well.

After taking the video I realized that I've done an error in the wiring hooking the ignition relay trigger wire to constant power instead of switched power so I'll have to fix that. The way the ignition is meant to be done you can turn on the ignition with a momentary contact switch which then latches a relay and keeps it on until you shut the main power switch off. It's supposed to be a way to be able to turn the engine over on the starter building up oil pressure before switching the ignition to actually fire the engine. The ignition should reset every time you cycle the main power switch but with the power wire wrong the ignition stays on until you kill the master with the key. Did the whole harness to this point in about 11 hours so not too bothered by one wrong wire.

Electrical tape holding everything together while running the wires. It's cheap so you can wrap the bundle several times without breaking the bank. Once everything is done that'll be cut off and just have zip ties holding the bundle together.

Not running any loom over the entire harness on this one. I've always liked the zip tie bands look and have never had the opportunity to do it on a car in the past so this is it.

I should try to remember that. I usually go through about three packs of zip ties...
