it's gonna be a month or so before i can get the parts i need to make my bike running so i was wondering what, if anything, i should do. i was thinking of draining the carbs cuz i don't want that dirty ol' ethanol gas to eat away at my parts. maybe i'm overthinking.

I wouldn't drain the tank, though -- in fact, I'd fill it. Less chance of rust that way. If you don't want to run month-old gas through your bike (although I think it should be just fine), you can always drain it and put the gas in your car, mix it with the rest of the gas in there.
