Will running a "y" splitter from one fuel petcock be able to supply both carbs with enough fuel or does another petcock have to be added. Contemplating on using an older dirt bike tank on the xs but they always have only one valve.

As racerdave says, it is simpler and easier to not use a tee. Run the fuel line to one carb, and cap off the other carb's nipple. The crossover tube will supply the other carb just fine.

A buddy of mine who dealt with these bikes a lot in the 70's when they came out told me not to do that as the other carb will run lean as a result. Being that he's been a bike mechanic for ever I tend to listen to him. I'm running a splitter off my sporty tank to the two carbs.

Compare the size of the carb inlet and cross-over nipples (huge) to the size of the carb jets (tiny). A single fuel line will supply plenty of fuel to both carbs. Been tried and tested 100's of times.

Awesome---enough testimonials here for me to go for it. Thanks everyone!
