Just putting this out there, I’m selling my original exhaust system mufflers in the far sale section. They have some rust through but are still fully funcitonal and possibly repairable. Chrome is good on them except for the rust through spots.
That's right. I have an XS Eleven Special and while it has longer legs than the XS650, I don't find it practical either. Just the same, it has taken a few 3,000 mile trips.Three XS’s in the garage would still not give me a practical, comfortable, dependable touring option.
All back together. Kick kick. Switch on. Kick.

So, we're looking for old barns these days?
No pics? The rebuild kit from Mike's arrived and after running a brake hone thru the cylinder it all went back together with no drama. I also took the opportunity to adjust the valves and polish up the valve covers. Test ride later on today...

My son's CRF230. He's outgrown it so it's getting ready to be sold.what's the dirt scooter in the reflection?
yamahama I have to ask why are you so hung up on the CR? I've rebuilt 2 256 motors that run just fine. Granted I'm not looking for the last Nth of horsepower out of them. I even used Athena head gaskets which are a little thicker. I'm sure that lowered the CR. Motors run just fine.I'm not going to get too cute on not *guessing right* on CR by messing with head surface.
