What is the difference between them ??

Hi all, I do not need micro details I am new to the XS650 world.

I have a 1981, XS650H. So my owners manual cover reads XS650H & XS650SH.
on the side covers of the bike it shows Special-II 650. I want to say the SH is the Special, but based on what the owners manual shows the H has wire spoke wheels. Mine has wire wheels. So what is it that I have?
Any input is appreciated.

For maintenance purposes it makes no difference. H is 81 and it came as a mag wheel "special" and as the chrome rim spoke wheel "special II" which seems to be what you have. There are minor style differences but again from a mechanical aspect they are the same. Post up pics? We love pics!
The special II was sold as a "loss leader" sometimes for as little as $1000 brand new but in todays market is worth a bit more because many prefer spoke wheels.

+1 for spoked wheel premium. I payed the extra for a special II over the dozen of heritage/special xs650's floating around.

So gosh darned pretty...
