Where's your duct tape?

For my bikes that have tubeless tires, I have both a regular plug kit plus some of the plugs that you screw in with a phillips. My scout and Bonneville have bags, I have a travel kit I throw into either one. I have one of those electric air pumps that are the size of a soda can.

Thats why my XS2 was on the tow truck, tires with tubes and I picked up a screw in the road, instant flat tire. I was about 25 miles from home in that photo. I always carried a nice took kit, but no use in that scenario! 😄

I have used chemicals for that 2 x but never when I had it with me
One was a brand new tire -- steel nail . The type used in nail guns rear. Walked to the gas station bought it and walked back Not so far . the other tire was old and I went into a roundabout at ca 70 km / h the rear wheel made a slight wobbling motion most of the air out I made it to the service station.
On longer runs to regions with not much people and service stations I used to have it with me.

#2 screwdriver
carb adjustment screw driver
some gorrilla tape wrapped around a wrench handle

A rag

I'm thinking Hope and Patience are two young women to push the broke down bike? 😂

Very good!

Gary forgot to add sense of humour and being open to new experiences. Your plan for the day has just been shredded. Getting over that, re-evaluating your options - I'll call it acceptance.

It has been mentioned here before
I Stocked up -- Bought a couple -- Was on sale $ 5 -- half of the previous price
It has the bits capability .Which I find Important to look for . Not leatherman quality . But good enough. .
Over time I drop the bits and The whole item has happened at camping sites and so.
It is more an emergency solution Dont really need the best top Quality
Getting you home or to the service station or shop
The wire connector needs to be pinched a bit
The hose clamp tightened
There is the simple holster or can have it in the Pocket
It has saved the day for me and will do the same for others Into Older vehicles.

Managed 6 hours of ride time over the weekend. To Mullenbach for 2024 Elefantreffen Rally, not without incident. I have come to find the XS runs like a really angry yellow jacket. In fact I am thinking of Yamaha's yellow and black for the new color scheme! 30 Jan. I was hit from behind by a Mercedes Benz. Luckily I had just started to roll and had good control of the bike. I was lunched into a uncommanded wheelie, that ended with a unplanned rear exiting dismount. Only bruised buttocks. I was able to ride the machine back to the house the very next day. But the stress to the bike eventually resulted in the stem for my taillight failing. I had to replace the tail light the night before I left. Use of the tool kit was limited to Safety wire and duct tape. One hour into my ride I stopped for a vibratory break, only to find my plate fastener had decided it needed one too...Safety wire beats zip ties in objects with sharp edges. My small strip of duct tape was a futile attempt at a rapidly deflating air mattress during the first night...Turns out a lot of Jack and coke is a better solution. My toolkit fit in an empty wipes container with quick fasteners.

One of these....

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V4GL9E?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

A set of these....

MAXPOWER 8PCS Double Open-End... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MYYSKTV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These....

https://a.co/d/9qBE9mj

2, 8" lengths of wire with small croc clips on each end, 1 of each size fuse and my Leatherman Wave.
Everything listed above fits into the roll the wrench set comes in (if you ditch a couple of the duplicate wrenches) making for a compact, handy tool roll.
If I can't get going again with that lot, I'm camping until help arrives.
