1979 Ground Pounder Bobber Builid

Picked it up for 700 bucks and here is the story of how this bike came to life!!

took the time machine back to '79 and brought this bike back and AC/DC's new Album!

Drilled the mags

Cleaned painted and polished motor and regasketed some stuff

Forks after i rebuilt and painted them

cut that bitch up!!

almost done with mock up! What ya think of the brake line?

brake set up!! copper brake line, proportioning valve, and yes the fron and rear are controled from one pedal

oh yea i rebuilt and powdercoated the calipers

made this kick starter for $5.78

what did you do with that sa-weet king-n-queen seat it came with?
Stock pic looks nearly identical (but much cleaner) to how I found mine.

seat i lost when i moved to my new shop. not sure how i lost something that big and gaudy but i did! lol

the exhaust was pretty bad actually. i just cut it up and used some of it for bends for my new exhaust

Great bobber build,

You have eye for detail and fabricate well. Another thing I like is that you are using what you got on hand and giving it your personal touch making it look like a million bucks and not just ordering all the stuff. Nice to see a personalized Sportster tank.

I was woundering what rubber you were running... make and specs please?
The mags Look Amazing ! Also like your kicker!

Rear is a Duro and front is Bridgestone I will get more info when I'm at the shop tonight! Hopefully getting some stuff back from the powder coater..... Fingers crossed

the paint on the wheels and engine looks great - are they powdercoated or did you spray it yourself? If you did it yourself can you tell us what kind of paint and technique you used?

Thanks! Wheels and engine side covers I sprayed with gun and 2 coats of clear. The main part of engine tho is a semi gloss high temp spray paint

From the master cylinder there is a line going to a
T that goes to the front and on the other side a proportioning valve to the rear brake. Pressure to the front brake will be constant but to the rear will be 100% adjustable
