Hello, all...

Last winter - a rough, cold one - I made the mistake of letting my AGM battery sit unattended and had to replace it early this year. My charging system seems to be fine.

Anyway, I am traveling to Florida for about a week, and wondered if it is safe to let my battery sit hooked up to my little Shumacker charger/maintainer for that long, or even longer as winter progresses, since I know that sitting in the cold, untended, is hard on batteries. I don't want to make that mistake again.

My charger has the three little lights, one of which indicates when it goes into "maintenance mode", so I suppose it should be okay.

Thanks -

TC

Yeah should be OK But I would tend to take it off and unplug while away. I make the rounds during the winter putting the charger on one of my summer toys and moving it to the next one (about 8 batteries total) the next time I am out in the shed. Typically it makes the rounds 2 or 3 times each winter and that seems to keep all my batteries happy.

For a week it probably will be fine. Take it out and inside will be ok to.
