I modified an old clutch screw actuator a whie back, extending the lever by 5MM, from 35mm to 40mm. As a matter of interest today I measured how much the screw actuator moves the clutch pushrod: the stock screw actuator moves the rod 1,4mm, the modified one moves it 1,1mm. this seems very litte to seperate the plates, anyone else measure the pushrod movement.

I measured pressure plate movement instead as I found it easier .....

Yes, 1.1mm isn't much movement and may cause clutch drag issues when things get hot. For the arm length, I'm using an XS400 worm which is the same length as the late 650 arm ......

Adjusted to the book spec (about 1/4 turn out after touching) gave me about 1.34mm of movement. Adjusting it snug the way I usually do upped that to 1.54mm. I back the screw out very little after touching, maybe 1/16 of a turn, and run practically zero freeplay in the cable at the bars. This is the "cold" setting and isn't too tight because as soon as the bike is running and begins to heat up, more freeplay develops.
