I've got the same question about the earlier frames - I have a 1972 frame with the 2 separate plates. Would love to stiffen it up without resorting to bolting my grammie's radiator to it.
Would be happy to work with you on the specs if you wanted. Lots of early model frames out there in need of front end bracing.
In the meantime I'm probably going to add a set of tubes between my frame rails to stiffen it up - might weld the stock engine mounts to the ends and maybe put an X brace between the tubes to further stiffen it.
I'm putting a GSXR front end on my XS, and the stiffer forks will result in more flex in the frame.
