Yep I hope that the hardware store carries them with thread long enough, but I have a few places to shop at

I needed a m6x38mm stud
The small hardware store had m6x31
But the lumber yard had m6x 100mm all thread
Bonus 2 for 1 and at $2.59 per I bought 2

I would have started a Mikeys new bike build page but I'm on page 4 already and haven't got past the 2 missing studs dilemma :shootme:

With the carbs off things went smoothly I was able to run the helicoil tap in again and that was good to go inserted the helicoil with lock tight in straight this time ( It was sticking out just a hair "red one" ) I didn't want to force it and the new o ring will take care of that
Put in a length of the 6mm all thread with LT cut of the excess and put on new crown nuts on that cover to look the same
If I would have just pulled the carbs 1st...
Good way to make an easy job difficult
And I got to use my deceased buddy's Black and Decker (Dremel like) to cut of the excess all thread

Ok quick question on this bike (81) do I need resister plugs?
I've switched most of the other bikes I've had to new non resistor wires and NGK resistor caps so I could run the easier to find Autolite AP 63 plugs

You only want one instance of resistance in the line. That can be plug or plug cap (not both). On bikes, you generally don't use resistor wire. Many are making the change to non-resistor caps because the non-resistor plug we normally use (NGK BP7ES) is getting hard to find. If the AP-63 is a resistor plug then you'll want non-resistor plug caps. NGK makes a very nice one, the LZFH .....

So the stock wires are non resistance wires ?
Generally, yes. Usually a straight copper twisted core.
As far as I know, motorcycles avoided the use of the horrible carbon-cored leads that many cars were cursed with.

Perfect that's what I needed to know
On further thought I think the AP63 are non resistance plugs but I used NGK LZFH 8381 resister caps
EDIT : This is what I need https://www.ebay.com/itm/195563024900

I just Googled the SP63 and it says it's a resistor type that has 4K ohms of resistance. You better check those plugs closer.
