Oil Filters

A big THANK YOU to everyone who so graciously gave of their time to help me! Dang, my bike runs smooth now. It is nothing short of remarkable what having fresh oil and filters will do!! And the brakes are tight!

Anyway, I lost the left side cover. Ebay is lousy with right covers for some reason, but no lefts. I found a 1980 cover, however. Will it fit?

My tank and each cover have flames 🔥 blazing across the sides. This '80
cover I found on Ebay does not. I can always paint my own but I'm no artist!

Any leads on where I can get the proper cover?

Thanks, as always!!!

If it's a metal cover with the slots on top and the twist knob on the bottom, then yes, a 1980 version will fit. Anything newer won't. They switched to plastic covers with "pegs" and open ended slots on them that snap into grommets on the frame.

Yes, you need a metal cover that hangs on two tabs and has the knob on the bottom that "twist-locks" into the frame. They were used on '78 -'80 models. Maybe they got the year wrong on that eBay listing. A plastic cover would be from an '81 or newer model.

'80SG (Special) has the plastic covers that pop in at the bottom.
'80G (SII) had the metal ones with the 1/4 turn knob on the bottom.
