First off, I'd like to thank this kick ass site and the fine folks who frequent it for turning me on to the XS650 culture and helping with tons of info for this build

Back in February, I picked up an 80 with a bad motor and an 81 with no title. Both bikes were relatively complete except a set of bodywork. Fast forward 4 months and here she is. My first attempt at a bobber/chopper/whatever. I'm a 60's gasser, straight axle, street freak junkie and wanted to build a bike that emulated that style since it will be a looong time before I ever build a gasser myself.

Here's the specs:
Voodoo Vintage Mk21 tail (David is a great guy and produces a fine product)
Shaved and polished lowers
21" front wheel
18" shouldered rear
TC bros exhaust kit
Hughs Handbuilt PMA (Top notch customer service!!!)
Pamco ignition
CCW Alien tank from Lowbrow
Oil bag components from Bung King (All electronics hiding in here)
Bars by me
99 YZ 250 front M/C
Front fender for the rear
Lowbrow strut kit
Fleabay 4" headlight
No School Model A tail light on a modified Voodoo Vintage tag mount

Plenty more details, but these are the biggies. All cutting grinding, welding, painting, wheel lacing, cussing, done by me. The only work I paid for besides the major parts was the cylinder honing.
I've probably put 200 or so miles on it so far and aside fro the occasional cough through the carb at idle, she runs and rides great.

Anyway, here's some pics.

Paint skills! Nice job

Thanks, the whole bike was a rattle can job. Eastwood gloss chassis black on the frame, SprayMax primers and clear. Color is Roth Rattlebomb Surfite Silver base, Warm Beer flake, and Custard Pie Candy.
For the graphics, I laid down the lines with 3M 1/8 fine line, then fogged over with a $15 Harbor Freight airbrush. The black is Duplicolor metallic black liberated from a rattle can(very messy).

Inspiration...
