Anyone know what USD forks are approx 800mm long? Sports bikes and modern street bikes like the Z1000 and FZ8 all seem to be around 720-740mm and adventure bikes are way too long. I`m going to hit the local Ducati dealer this weekend with a tape measure and try not to get thrown out. Having ridden my brothers` mint `73 XS2 I don`t want a bike that rides like a `70s machine, I want to create the perfect street bike. Box section alloy back end, old school with twin shocks, people tell me KLR Kawasaki - any other ideas? It`s keeping spoked wheels, albeit with a 17" rear rim and the original drum brake, rephased 750 motor and modern switchgear finished off with a pair of handmade replicas of the original early `70s slimline seamless Dunstalls.
XS2 looks and sound with 21st century handling and brakes - gotta be the way to go!!
