TAKE NOTE............
all the information i posted yesterday (quote below) is period correct for a points bike...........
If the Stator from an 80 or newer bike has been put onto a points bike then either one of 2 things have to be done......
1: The wiring on the Stator brushes has to be changed so that one of the brushes is a ground, (black wire) to use with a separate Regulator, (B type), and rectifier used on a points model bike
2; if the brushes, (on the Stater), are still wired as per an 80 or later type, (power to both brushes), then nylon screws have to be added to the brush screws to isolate the stater and an 80-83 (Type A) SS combined Reg/Rect is used in conjunction with points
You have a points model...............
Jim...............??????.............where is the question asking for a pic of the Brushes on that stator..........No you arn't perfect but with power comes great responsibility so posting about A type systems on a points model is giving the wrong information. Now you have other members backing up on your recommendations, (they also have an 80 and later bike), so what is the OP now going to do???????
