Yamaha Rotor

@BACK SHIFT Look at it this way...........Jim sells a rewound rotor for X amount of $'s. If you send him your old rotor he will take off Y amount of $'s and charge you Z amount which is X minus Y.

Now Jim doesn't have a TCI rotor and cannot sell a rewound TCI rotor till he receives another core to rewind, (also he is unavailable to work or stand on his feet for another few weeks......................Now you have a TCI rotor on your bike, (a core), he would require to keep his stock up, (and to be able to give you a $ amount rebate), that you will need to send him........If you take your rotor off the bike and send it to Jim he will rewind it when he is able to and send it back.

If Ken sends Jim a TCI rotor to rewind you will still not receive it till Jim is able to work, if you get the TCI rotor Ken send to Jim you will have a new rotor + the old one you do not need........Jim would like your old rotor, so cut out Ken, send your rotor to Jim to rewind

Hello Skull,
I would be more than glad to send my rotor core to Jim if I only knew just where to mail the bloody thing?
Thanks,
back shift

The forum inmates are SO familiar with the XS650 and troubleshooting, diagnosing that we forget at some point in our lives even we didn't know poop about fix'n stuff.
I think we need to go back a bit and be sure that BACK SHIFT really needs a rotor before he removes and replaces his. In one of his other threads we can go through and test the charging system piece by piece and see if we can find out what the problem REALLY is.

From post #4..............
