Ok, so here are pics of my rear tire, including the manufacture date in 2017, so it should be good. These look really bad to me. I wonder if JP cycles has a return or warrenty on lroducts they sell. This is ridiculous for a 2 year old tire with less than 4,000 miles.
I'd be talking to the dealer or manufacturer and not riding it. Sorry that does suck![ Other side...
Is that the KC bike?If you haven't seen the mentions, it's an NOS 2014 buell 1190SX
Great looking engine and I really like that stand, it even has wheels!Finished up a fresh rebuild today, except for new rotor expected any day from JimD.
Thanks, Jax. The stand was a hybrid of what I saw from 5twins, if memory serves. Very versatile. Rotisserie style on wheels. Easy to move around. Also built it so I can easily split the cases with a small jack on one side with traditional engine stand mounted upside down to pry against. I'll paint it up once I'm done with this motor so it looks more shop-worthy.Great looking engine and I really like that stand, it even has wheels!
First pic in the first post clearly says 2017. I emailed JP earlier today, but I think I’ll call them too.You sure the manufacture date is not 2007?
Have to wonder where that tire was stored before you got it or after you got it.
Not trying to point a finger at anyone just that no way a two year old tire should look like that!
I have a bike sitting in the barn that to the best of my knowledge has a rear tire that is at least
twelve years old, have not looked at the build date recently, but it only looks a slight bit worse than that!
I think I'd be contacting the place you bought it and also try to find a contact for the manufacture and
email them some of those pictures and let them know you have posted this to a large online site.
.006" on the next try?Press fitting a 3/8" hardened drill rod into aluminum.
0.005" interference fit.
1/2" in, at 8 tons, it 'sploded...
