Whats your weather right now?

The rain looks like it's here for the day at least.

After three dismal days to start the week with rain, snow and sleet mix we are having beautiful 70 and sunny. Leaves blowing everywhere! I’ll bet if I strung a net across my open image.jpggarage door I could gather half the leaves in the neighborhood!

Gorgeous day here in southwestern Quebec; 73* and not a cloud in the sky. Most leaves are down and what's left on the trees is brilliant yellow to deep red. No pics from today's ride, which was strictly utilitarian to pick up a tool from a friend's shop.

Weather related, but not today's... just got back from SW Florida post-Ian. Was there to do some damage assessment and control. For those of you affected by Ian like myself, I empathize. For those of you of you who have seen the images on various media, you cannot conceive what it looks like live. Some parts of the town I was in appear to have been hit by supernatural forces. Debris, both natural and manmade, was everywhere. It will take years before it looks normal again. Waterside restaurants that I dined in in April are simply not there anymore. Trees that are probably 100 years old (banyans) were uprooted and blown down the road a piece. A fifth-wheel trailer in the storage yard where I keep a boat was flipped over and completely blown apart, as if it exploded.

Disastrous, sad and unfortunate are far from adequate terms to describe the scale of the damage. For those of you affected, best wishes for your safety and recovery.

Still managing to use the RE Bullet most days.

Today was just an eight-mile loop through a nearby village.

The main hazards are wet road surfaces, farmers leaving mud, wet leaves and low Sun. But it's late October and the weather is mild so got to be done.

Of late, it has been comparatively mild for the time of year but today definitely a bit colder.

This afternoon, the authorities have issued a double weather warning Yellow for heavy rain and Amber for gale-force winds. Applies across the Borders, I think other parts of Eastern Scotland, also NE England.

These colour-coded weather warnings - I think Yellow means 'be aware', Amber means 'some risk of disruption' and Red means 'danger to life'. But for some reason a Yellow snow warning amuses my inner primary school child.

Going to be 70 today but of course winds 15mph gusting to 40mph
Lat time I was out the gusty winds pushed my shield of to one side a bit and popped out the bottom holder on the shield it self
No problem as I just heated the rubber socket and pushed it back in
But my neck got throttled around a bit but it's off to ride into the wind again ( could be the last ride ?)

Ah, Canadian weather:

The Prairies:Travel delays likely as major storm targets Prairies with up to 40 cm of snow, Tuesday, November 1st 2022, 8:53 pm - A potent winter-like storm threatens heavy snow and difficult travel over parts of the Prairies this week. Snowfall and freezing rain warnings, as well as special weather statements, cover parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Montreal: Sunny, cloudless, high of 13*C/55*F. Looks like a fine day for a ride! Its going to be sunny and 16*C/55*F tomorrow, 20*C/61*F on Friday and 22*C/72*F on Saturday. The mean temp for November is 2*C/35.6*F! Looks like Zeus really is shining on us. We are going to get a reality check soon.

Sadly the weather is as wet as ever in the South Wales region.
No chance of a late season ride out it seems.
Time to drain the carbs and top off the tank. Wax the paintwork and chrome; then snug down for the Winter.
Shame it's taken me over a year and no end of $$££ to finish the bike; and no chance to ride it.
Roll on the spring!
