Alternative bikes of budget build?

Going a little off-topic, this thread had me thinking of the smaller old scoots in general, and the RG500 popped into my head. 95HP, 140mph top, 400lbs wet... a bike I've wanted to ride since high school. We Americans and our need for everything to be bigger than the next guy's...
