This is non xs 650 topic. I have a 2004 Yamaha Roadstar 1700. Well got up early to take a nice coastal ride but was cut short. On my way out of town glanced at my voltmeter and saw 12.3v. Turned around and got home. Went thru this test sequence and found stator grounded. Readings are same grounded as 3 readings on each pin not grounded. Can someone confirm what I am seeing is correct that stator is grounded and will need replacing? Got a fully charged battery 3000rpm holds around 12.3 or so. Getting power to reg/rec all connections been cleaned. Yamaha service manual goes thru sequence but does not go thru grounding stator. Just want to make sure what I am reading is correct. Grounded stator is no good. thanks JC
