I have a 1977 xs650. Bike starts up fine, but when I ride, I'm getting a shortage of power. I've battled wiring/electrical problems ever since I bought the bike. I redid all the wiring, because fuses kept blowing. But now the bike just isn't riding right.
I tested the stock regulator and rectifier with a voltage meter. They are working fine. I rebuilt the carb ( tuned and jetted ). Alternator and starter are in good working order. Condenser is fine. Battery has been checked.
The only thing I can guess is the wiring. I have an after market speedo, taillight, headlight, starter switch, ignition, and switch for my headlight. Any suggestions?
The spark plugs are fine, but the two ignition coils are concerning, but I'm not sure if they need to be replaced because the bike starts fine.
Please help.
