Hi all!
Here I am again, at sea, and with time left over for an hour or two at the lathe!
I would like to remove the speedo drive on my 1977 XS, and would need some measurements from the axle and the tacho drive unit, in order to make a spacer ("speedo delete")

I have a hub at hand, and I know axle diameter is 17 mm, but that is the only measurements i have available.

- What is the inner length of the speedo drive? (from wheel bearing to shoulder on axle, when assembled)
-What is the larger diameter of the axle?

Appreciate any info :)

I believe you are referring to the speedo. It is the gauge connected to the front wheel. Tach is connected to the right side of the engine case. Definitely need some sort of cap there unless you like shooting oil.

oooops....I MAY have been reading too much on German websites lately......

In German:
Speedometer= Tachometer
Tachometer= Drehzahlmesser ("RPM Gauge")

I obviously meant "Removing Speedo Drive...."
