To be clear the 30 vpp is with the pickup coil unloaded (ie not connected to the Gonzo) and is not the power supply for the box.I Believe my Boyer Bransden Dropped one cylinder when overcharging
puts out close to 30 vpp and I wonder if that mechanism is causing problems..
Thinking out loud a Zenerdiode in circuit ?? as a max limiter ??
With any of the 4 pickup coils unloaded the vpp is much higher than the RMS value 30 pp for the rawhide and below 10 vrms.
Your spot on with the zener idea and the input circuit on the Gonzo appears to limit the input voltage to ~16 vpp.
Measured at the trigger input on the Gonzo.
On the left RX135 On the right Rawhide
Rpm ~2400
The stock TCI pickup also using the same reluctor setup looks very similar to the rawhide. Large gap in voltage rise RX vs. Rawhide compare the pp to rms valves. low duty cycle pulses.
