You could line up 10 of those little DT's side by side.... and couldn't come up with a "mess of wires." They're some of the most basic bikes ever made. Don't let wiring hold you back... or maybe I should phrase that as don't sweat the small stuff.
After I posted that I noticed there were like 4 colors lol

Crazy ain't it?
I made a road trip to Montana after buying the first one on eBay with buy it now of $800. Seller had a great idea before I left, said "hey we can disassemble this thing to fit in a car...it'd be cheaper than driving a pick up out to get it.". I was like holy crap, why didnt I think of that? Took passenger seat outta my 95 Accord 2 door coupe, grabbed basic metric tool kit and headed out. It was fun.

Then, I kid you not...right after I unpacked it, another one popped up on local craigslist listed as a 73 DT250 for $250 with title! I said is it the bike in the photo (a 1970 DT-1)? She said yep.....I headed straight out and bought it too, how couldnt I!?

Sounds like great deals. A few years ago I decided I wanted one. Had a hand full back back in my youth... and just wanted one to make rooster tails in the back yard. :cautious:
Holy hell I was in for a shock when I started looking. :yikes: 'Round these parts a beater that might or might not run fetched upwards of 2k. Unbelievable!

So I decided to make my own. The project is down in the basement mess right now. Maybe I'll drag it out this winter.

The damage you mean or the shaggin ?
I used to buy own and drive repairables
Repairing them were easy just turn the key and drive away (hail damage was my specialty and often people would ask me "hail damage ?"
And my one and only reply was angry wife with a ball peen hammer
And would always get the deer in the headlights look :yikes:
I suppose I should have explained the real reason but when the whole car is covered in dents ...
Must be a MN thing ( weather hot enough for ya / Go twins and take the damn Vikings with ya etc)

This has "SCAM" written all over it.:yikes: No info???
