XS6502F / XS650SK mash up?

1980G SII.....same as the 78/79 special metal side-covers .......the swing-arm has the removable blocks on the end, the standards and 78/79 Specials, had so the rear wheel could be taken off without removing the mufflers.

The one in the trunk is a ‘79 Special. It’s going to be a Special II, sort of.

Of course. Disk brake:doh:. Still all you will need is to weld a couple of tabs on. One on the swingarm for the drum brake plate stay and the ones 5twins pointed out.

The tabs for the rear MC and its reservoir, (if you de-tabe them), could have some vale to someone who doing a drum to disk conversion.

Those 2 bits that hold the MC on are recessed into the frame.

Well, this is fun! I mounted an SK battery box in a 2F frame. Then the plastic SK air boxes. Finally, the 2F metal side covers. It looks like this is going to work (maybe). I think I would prefer to run the BS34 carburetors as that would simplify this whole process.

It’s all going to fit! ‘79 frame, ‘83 battery box, plastic air boxes, ‘79 Sp2 steel side covers and BS34 carburetors.
So, it’s going to be ‘79 frame and wheels, ‘81 engine, and 1983 electrical. I think it’s almost time to dismantle it and start making a bike.

I’ll put a flat Texavina seat on it and it should give me the look I want.

I like this Toyota Calvary Blue. I’m thinking that on the tank. All other paint to black. Yes? No?

Deep grooves in outer clutch basket 6 o clock ?? ??
Many miles ?? ??
But I suppose that is seen at the top end.

I seems obvious that paint is not a viable option for the fuel cap center. Do any of you have a recommendation?

I suppose drill with wire brush + carborundum paper + paint can make it happen

If it was mine I would bead blast it and then treat it with Evaporust. You could wire wheel it and then use phosphoric acid to treat it and see how it looks.
Or send Jim your address.

I started tearing down the top end of my intended engine. It looks new in there. The cam chain is tight. So, I don’t think I’ll replace it. Maybe just rings and valve seals. The rubber is 100% missing from the cam chain guide.

Yes it does look fine in there.Perhaps the best I have seen. opened up
Piston crowns and cam

The color however I don't like if plain English should be used

It is nothing used stock and it does not have the flashy Bling people turning their heads factor like metallic flake
And it is not really downplayed ..like a plain single color white or black
Something in between like a primer paint rust preventing base epoxy like

It looks as a beginners Yuppie color I would rather keep a stock rusted tank
But again as mentioned before ..There are different views but personally I think it is a mistake
using that in between color

Toyota however has some Fine Blue paints that i Like
and perhaps 80 ies landcruisers had even prettier variants
Not sure about the name and how difficult it is to use and if it works here
But as a suggestion Humble input
