Just saw this thread. Looks like you have the wheels from an '82 xs400, sort of a cross between the maxim and the xs series. I couldn't tell from the picture of the rear tire, but is it an 18"? Do you have the XS650 triple trees? If so that would be another indicator pointing to XS400 wheel and fork combo, because I believe that model used 35mm forks, as opposed to 36mm for the 550, 650. Does the rear axle fit tightly in your swing arm, because the axle would be 17mm vs the 20 for the XS650?
