Oooo, not good, riveter softer than rivet! Thought the big pin had broken off and assumed, and I know what happens when we assume--shoulda known better. I see the deformed dome now. Gawd that's ugly!
I was going to just muscle it in off my ATV jack, but my 20 something neighbor was in his driveway. The two of us easily set it into the frame.

This is how I remember it when it was new. I’ve attempted to replicate that without spending too much time on it. The carburetors are also black. All done with VHT black pearl. I hope it holds up.
I have used a similar VHT product and it has held up pretty good. I picked a light color and it did discolor a little on the jugs, but that's it. Won't be a problem on your black engine. I have also exposed a few test pieces to gasoline and their engine enamel can withstand it fairly well. That being said, I still do my best to keep gas off of it!The carburetors are also black. I have misplaced my replacement oil cooler. The dealer installed it before I took delivery. That cooler was damaged at the Ozark rally maybe two years ago, so I bought a replacement. It looked easier than deleting it. Meanwhile, I have a few other items to address, including a broken rear signal. Yes, I should get a 1st start video.Video of the first start?

It’s loud. I’ll be adjusting the valves before I start it again. The carburetors have to come off too. They’re hanging up at the bottom. It was running on one cylinder due to paint around the spark plug holes.
