Van Go

It's got a shore connection, plus there'll be a battery bank powered inverter. Eventually I'll add solar to the top to recharge the batteries. Most likely no generator, but I am toying with the idea of a small, quiet Honda.
Yes a small generator will give you more power options and guarantee you’ll always have juice.

Left wall is kickin' my butt...

There's a combo heater/air conditioner aft and port. consequently, there's a wiring harness, heater hoses and freon hoses running down this side. As well as sticking out from the wall a few inches, they need to be accessible for repair or replacement. So I need to design the lower portion so it looks like the rest of the interior, but be removable. Don't know if I ever mentioned it but this is my third or fourth van build. I know from those that anything not glued and screwed into place will eventually start to squeak and drive you up the friggin' wall while you're driving.
I'm wondering if panels held in with velcro would work... :umm:

Anyway... here's the latest progress pics.

Great progress Jim! It will be nice to have the heating and cooling in the van. Looks like you’ll be rolling down the road in no time.

Today’s day and age of technology is great. You can take so many pictures just with a phone, to remind yourself how you built something or where those wires and hoses were routed. Many, many years ago when I did renovations or other custom work, I had to make drawing, or hope I’d remember how I built something.

Put some of the siding ply on the right window sill... since I did the left. Gotta match eh?

So for the aft HVAC unit, I just made a box, a 4 sided box installed with the same stainless screws the rest of the lower left side is installed with. Easily removable. It's plenty big enough, so my current plan is the put the power inverter inside the box. Haven't decided what size inverter to run yet.... leanin' towards a 2000W unit, but it's plenty big enough for one twice that size.

After that I gave the inside a good cleaning. When it gets to the point ya gotta start pushin' stuff outta your way, it's time to stop and tidy up a bit.

One of my main considerations with this interior is weight. That's why I'm using 11/32" ply. The microwave weighs 20lbs. Discretion told me to go with 3/4" for it. Might be a little heavier than needed... but at least I won't have to worry about it falling down on a large pothole.

You took the thoughts right outta my head about weight....although, I knew you were going to take that into account.

Air bag suspension assist maybe? 🤔
