Caution: gentle with compressed air if you really need to use it at all..............Best not to, just a rinse with a water dispeser/WD40 and let drain if you worried about any run off
Thanks, I will let it dry out overnight.Caution: gentle with compressed air if you really need to use it at all..............Best not to, just a rinse with a water dispeser/WD40 and let drain if you worried about any run off
Hi Willis, their Mikuni TM36 tuned for the XS from Mikuni OZ, I hope to start tuning toward early spring then I'll know if they realy work@PWASA are those Lectron carbs? Project looks great. You should do a build thread on it.
Thanx Mailman, I'm working toward riding by mid spring, I'll get a list of mods together and post when time permits. That’s a sharp looking bike! Welcome to the forum. I hope to see more of you and that clean bike, here in the future!
So I was chasing windmills. After ordering a Honda MP08 coil I said to myself, despite moisture on the dead cylinder plug, all these symptoms suggest carburetor prob. I dropped the bowl, nothing. Lost a screw reassembling though. Worked the vacuum slide up and down, it moves smoothly. Reassembled everything and it started and ran on 2 cylinders.Today was supposed to be a Just Ride day. Clutch replaced with a @gggGary 8 plate. Ignition switch contacts cleaned up, sump oil strainer cleaned and fresh M/C oil poured in. Don helmet, boots and gloves and start it up. Runs on left cylinder only. BS. Switch plugs. Right does have fuel on it. Start it up, still runs on left only. Install new plugs in case running rich has fouled them/it. Still runs on left only. Swapped plug wires left to right, right to left, no luck.. Ran the right wire to the left plug and vice versa,, still nothing. Installed brand new never used and cleaned plugs, still nothing. Opened the rocker covers and determined valves are opening and closing and there is some valve lash. There is spark at both plugs BUT with those tiny electrodes on BPR7EIX iridium plugs the spark is small enough to be able to easily characterize it.
...then I put the air filter on and called it a night. Next day, runs on 1 cylinder. So I was chasing windmills. Good luck! I did mine over last winter, and it takes a lot longer than you'd think. And costs a lot more, too. Worth it in the end though to have complete confidence and certainty that connections are good.decided to start the re-wire
Hi @nighthog, what connectors did you go with?Good luck! I did mine over last winter, and it takes a lot longer than you'd think. And costs a lot more, too. Worth it in the end though to have complete confidence and certainty that connections are good.
