Its a custom built front endWelcome, Sweet leafer! is that a custom built or off the self front end? I really dig the stance and the speedster bars.
It's a pretty heavily modified XS 650 frame, but it is an original frame. Neck was stretched 3" and raked a bit (not sure on the degree of the rake) then obviously the hardtail...... center section is XS 650It looks like only the powerplant is XS650. Is that an aftermarket frame for that engine?
Ya I dig the leaf springer, and they don't have much give, but its not bad for me, I'm only 140 lbs lol........ I CAN'T even imagine trying to run one at 200mph though , that's just nuts!Indian used a leafspring springer fork in the early years. There are companies out there that build recreations of them. Some are better than others.
They do give a bike a different look.
Burt Monroe had one on his Indian and took it down the course at Boniville at over 200 MPH. I guess they work.

Yes it is a TT500 tankIs that a TT500 tank?
Thanks, and no it doesn't pogo much....... there really isn't much suspension whatsoever lol..... maybe and inch or 2 . It's pretty much just a bar hopper.... only has about 75mi range with the tank as wellWell Renegade Offroader! While I readily admit that that style of bike is not "my thang", it is an XS650 so welcome to XS650.com from Canada's sunny southern coast in Windsor, Ontario!
I do appreciate the work and craftsmanship that went into that bike (it really IS nicely built and the bag is superb IMO).
The rear suspension is.....well, I guess it really isn't (oh gawwd my achin' back). The front suspension is very interesting and there certainly is no fundamental reason why it shouldn't work OK - except that there is no damping in the front end (i.e. there is a spring, but no shock absorber).
Does it not pogo a fair bit when you hit a bump?
