Installed the cam chain adjuster and the sump filter.
The fresh rebuilt engine is ready for installation.
- Rephased crank and cam by HHB
- PMA by HHB
- Pamco 277 ignition kit w/green Single Tower XS Performance High Output Ignition Coils
- All new gaskets on everything
- NEW clutch/springs/hardware
- New oil delivery tube
- New sump and oil filters
- New hardware
- New pistons 3rd. Oversize (0.75mm.) + piston pin & clips
- Cylinders bored to fit

Just RODE it, how rare for me. I'm about finished messing with the 82, put a 100 miles on today. She's getting 50MPG at a "sporting" pace. Pipes are too loud but will leave them and start in on a different bike.

We'll say over this weekend......
Changed the fork oil in the '77 and then test rode.
Changed the gearing back to stock on the '83 and test rode her too.
There's a jealousy balance that has to be maintained on these two.......

Has not been a good day but.....charging the battery checking fuses, lubing clutch cable, making new battery cables, looking for the tool kit(there is not one), and also trying to get her started, again. I am new to the XS650, the shipper dropped it off at my shop and we rode it home, one half mile, it idles for a few minutes and died, that was 2 weeks ago, still not started.

Too many brother, too many! Short of exhaust mod's I've done just about everything I can do to it. Seat was the first thing I changed, factory one was horrible.
I'll send you a couple of pic's man.

Well this evening I removed the forward controls, left side cover, air filters, drive chain, and exhaust system.
getting ready for the engine, charging system swap.
If anybody has HHB PMA Flywheel Puller they want to sell let me know.

Thanks figure8, Not needing one as of yet.
HHB is out of stock, I just would reather have one and not need it than not have one and need it.
I pulled the gas tank, coil and front engine mount.
just a few more things and I can remove the tired engine and install the fresh engine

this morning I pulled the carbs off 'removed top motor mount and the 2 rear mounts.
I need to unplug the charging system and set up my chain hoist so I can remove the engine.

I'm looking forward to finding out what the difference is.
I'll sure give my opinion.
