I don't see one. That tray is to burn gas in to get it started, if I remember right. Until it heats upBut this one has a specific function.
Correct, the tray is filled up with gas and lit until the burner Venturi is hot and then the torch is lit. That’s pretty standard on all gasoline torches but this torch has an extra part on it that makes it something different altogether.I don't see one. That’s the extra bit yes, but it has a specific function that makes this something other than just a torch.Brass tube is soldered to air mix chamber. Hose connects to tube and ran to an area where you want to draw off fumes/air?

That’s Hot!....I still think it is some sort of marital aid.....
Yeah, gives you phosgene gas... which was used in WWI to make mustard gas.Very dangerous to burn Freon.
Yes it is very similar, that’s not a coincidence.Very similar to the setup for propane torches used for detecting Freon leaks. Long since outlawed. Very dangerous to burn Freon.
Close enough, its a Turner H-1 Halide leak detector. Its Unused from my collection.Natural gas line leak detector? Hold a hose next to a connection and watch the flame?
