The guy who has the '75 lowered his price to $5200...he's a used car salesman, so....maybe wants to sell quickly. They like to move inventory.

I forgot what the fix is for the growling noise. As I recall, it's a big enough issue to reduce this to a $400 bike.

I test rode a 72 XS-2 that sounded exactly like that many, many years ago when I was actively pursuing one for my collection.

I had never heard one do that before (or since) and it was a hard pass for me.

Sounds like the whirring of the primary gears. If it is, the crank's bent itself.

Well, at the 14-second mark in the video, the whole left-side cover is not tightened down and loosely on there, so I would wonder if maybe that is causing that sound.
