    Laggy Hydraulic Clutch Engagement

Hey guys, As some of you may know I just bought a 71, and have had some quirks to work through. The bike came equipped with a HHB Hydraulic Clutch Conversion. The first bike I ever owned had a hydraulic clutch, although I can't really remember the characteristics of that clutch. The...

    Another clutch cable question

Hello all, I recently replaced my clutch cable with an ez cable from 650central. Now I know that it is expected to stretch while I use it. I am noticing that the adjustment loosens up while I ride, but after it sits it is adjusted correctly. What could be causing this?

Why are there ball bearings on the clutch push rod?

I'm mounting a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder and will be measuring the length of the push rod. Why does the design have a ball on either end of the rod? What's its purpose? Seems like it just creates a point load and allows the rod to spin freely. Thanks. B.

Strange things you find trying to fix a leak

So I was trying to solve the usual left side cover leak. I figured it was the pushrod seal so I replaced that, but the leak persisted. After pulling the cover off again I realized it was coming from the sprocket. The sprocket was super loose so I tighten it up and put the cover back on. I took...

Short handle bars on a Special clutch cable rerouting ideas.

This has worked for me and a few others. This route uses the stock long special cable. Per toomanyxs1b's exhaustive cable testing; bends in the cable are your ENEMY. Note the caps, this is a big deal. One sharp bend can fuggle your clutch action. The Yamaha worm gear was never an elegant...
